This weeks LOOT! Stock up during case lots!!

It's case lot time again--yeah! There is something about case lot week that just makes me giddy! I love to pour over the ads (or go to our website :) and dream about the food I could add to my food storage. I went down to my food storage room, took inventory and made a list of the items I needed to add to my storage. I was shocked that I only had 10 ketchup bottles left--ah! Funny that that makes me nervous :) Now that I have six more I can sleep better at night--haha!

Every year during tax return time (this case lot came a little early) I plan on spending anywhere from $200-$500 on my food storage. Although there are many places we could spend this money on, there is nothing more important to me than keeping up my food storage. Your return on your investment of food will be MUCH more than it could elsewhere--especially in today's market. Take sugar, wheat, rice, and flour for example. All of these items are projected to increase in this next year--if not DOUBLE. Why not stock up NOW while prices are low and prevent having to buy them at higher prices in the future.

Among many items that were running low in my storage, I decided to buy another 150 lbs. of wheat. The price of wheat is SO extremely cheap now days--$5.90 for a 25lb. bag at the LDS Cannery. I have people tell me all of the time, 'I don't know what to do with wheat..so, I am not going to buy any'. Oh....please don't say that! Wheat could be a life sustaining item in your food storage and could perhaps one day save your life, and your family's life. Sounds crazy, but it could be true! Wheat, rice and beans are complete proteins meaning you could live off of them. So..buy your wheat TODAY at these crazy low prices, even if you store it in your basement for 30 years. I promise one day you will be grateful!

Okay..enough about stocking up and my rampage about the importance of wheat :) Here is the FUN list of items I bought yesterday for just over $150!! I had people staring at me as I was checking out with my TWO carts chuck full of food! It was a riot!! (During case lot sales I suggest going to the actual grocery stores and not Walmart because they will have all of the items you will need. I happened to have a gift card from Christmas so I decided to get the few items I needed at Walmart)

Here is my loot:
9 (2lb. bags) powdered sugar
15 (2lb. bags) brown sugar

This may be a dumb question but is every item you buy normally an item you price match? Are there things you buy that are not on sale, like produce or do you find a sale on every item? And lately I've noticed Walmart being more strict on price matching and I wasn't able to price match an item from Buy Low because it wasn't a "local store". (I live in South Jordan) I had printed the ad from my computer and they would not accept it that way. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated! And also for Buy Low do you price match the produce and go on the day of the sale? (Wednesday, I believe?) Thanks, and as always, LOVE your service!!
