Charity Bake Sale 2014-Best Cinnamon Rolls & Pesto Cheese Rolls

Another fantastic bake sale has come to an end. This is one of my favorite nights of the entire year. Besides the fact that all of the proceeds of our bake sale go to a local family in need, it is so fun to get together with neighbors and enjoy each other's company. The kids love to run around and play while the adults get to visit and enjoy the summer night. All around it was a perfect event and I am so thankful to everyone who brought such DELICIOUS food and came to support such a great cause. I feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful and wonderful area with so many family and friends. Love you all!!! Here are a few highlights of our night and some of my favorite recipes ;)
We had the biggest selection and most amazing food options than we have ever had. We live around some outstanding cooks! Do you see those cute trifles in the bottom corner. My friend Missy makes them every year and they are amazing! They are homemade brownie, whipped cream, and strawberries. The combo is fantastic! Of course my sister's Peppermint Brownies are always a hit and this year she even made up a batch of JalapeƱo Cheese Rolls with our favorite French Bread recipe. Those were a HUGE hit! I also made Raspberry Rolls which were great and my friend made some amazing Lemon Custard Cupcakes (I'm hoping to get the recipe from her ;).
I have to admit that one of my favorite new additions to the bake sale was these Pesto Cheese Rolls I made. I sold them with homemade pizza sauce and the cheesy-garlicky rolls dipped in sauce were fabulous! These rolls are simple to make. Just make up a batch of our French Bread Recipe and then roll out like you would a batch of cinnamon rolls. On the inside, spread around a pesto filling of 1/2 cup pesto, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese and one stick of butter. Spread the majority of the pesto/butter spread on the inside of the roll. Sprinkle with shredded cheese, roll up and bake. Once they come out of the oven, brush with the remaining pesto butter and serve warm.
My dear friend Camille moved to Japan last year and she used to always bring her famous Cinnamon Rolls to our bake sale. Since she was gone, I made these cinnamon rolls in memory of her. We miss you Camille!! No one can make these rolls as well as her, but I have to say I came pretty darn close today. I can't think of anything better than a cinnamon roll right out of the oven. Simply perfection! If you have never tried our recipe for these cinnamon rolls, you need to look no farther. This recipe is a masterpiece.

Well, after a long day of baking, setting up and hosting the bake sale we ended the night with my friend Betsy and I being soaked with ice water. Shockingly (I must live in a cave?!?) it wasn't until 2 weeks ago that I heard about the ice bucket challenge/mania going on. One of my cute young women from our church challenged my friend and I to do the ice bucket challenge. We of course agreed and so they took the cooler with water and ice which held the drinks for the bake sale and dumped it on us. I was a semi-cheater and jumped out of the line of water, so poor Betsy got most of the water. Either way, it was freezing cold and a fun way to end the night ;) My husband's grandfather died from ALS so I am grateful to support two great causes tonight. A wonderful night from start to finish. That's really awesome to see what you guys are doing for charity. I always love to see stuff like this going on, it just gives me more hope in society. I've been planing on donation a few things from my food storage; Mainly so that others can start, and or grow their storage.
