BEST Deal of the week--I bought 50 lbs. it was such a great deal!!

Bring on the holiday baking season  I am so excited to share this amazing deal with you! With all of the baking we'll all be doing, this deal couldn't have come at a better time ;) Run, don't walk to your nearest Smiths grocery store and stock up on butter. They are having an awesome deal on Land O Lakes Butter. It's only $1.99 for a pound. At Smiths they are regularly $5.69. That's a 65% savings! Fabulous  Login to our website to find all of the other great deals this week.
**If you live outside of Utah, butter is also on sale at many Kroger or QFC grocery stores for under $2.50/lb..

Scary, I know! Fifty pounds of butter. Good thing it lasts for up to a year in a freezer. If only it would stick around for that long ;)

Did you leave any for anyone else?

People like you are the reason why there was no butter to be found when I went to the store. I would have loved to get in on this deal.

I just got back from Smith's (St. George, UT). There was no butter to be found. What was really time consuming & frustrating was that, the customer service booth refused a rain check for me. They said they were expecting a shipment tonight and that they weren't doing rain checks until "Saturday or Sunday." So, it's up in the air and shoppers can't plan on even rain checks right now. I've decided to keep calling and only go down there once they've truly restocked. Thanks for telling us, if it wasn't for you, I would not have tried. I just would've liked to gotten 5 or 6, but now I have to go back...

My thoughts exactly! My Smiths was totally cleaned out as well. It's funny you buy 50 lbs and then tell us to run to Smiths to buy some. Something's wrong with that advice. 90% of shoppers looking for the deals don't stand a chance when competing with people who take more than their share and clear the shelves.

It's nice of you to share these deals but I have to agree with these other comments that buying 50 lbs is a little bit over the top, especially since you cleared the shelf and now even those people that only need one pound that are doing their regular shopping get none. You charge people to get your list, but then clear the shelf before anyone else can get in on the deal. Smith's is out and not sure if more is even coming. I guess you have the right to do it but it doesn't make it better for those of us that wanted just a couple of lbs.

Thank you for your comments. I can appreciate your frustration. If it makes you feel better half of my butter is for my sister who lives in a country town with only one small grocery store. So, my 25 lbs. is actually not really that much. When I was checking out the cashier said there were ladies coming in and buying 150 lbs. I guess for those who are wanting to take advantage of the best deals anyone is welcome to check the ads, or login to our websites early Wednesday morning and go stock up ;) Generally when a store doesn't put a limit on the sale items that usually means the store has ordered enough product to ensure they don't run out. Sadly, I talked to the manager of our local Smiths and they said they didn't expect it to be huge sale (major oversight on their part) and apologized for not ordering enough. I figure if they don't put a limit on their product there is no reason to not stock up if it's an item I need. For those who come late to the sale they are always welcome to get a raincheck for a later date. I know people who are calling every morning at 5:30 a.m. to make sure they get there as soon as the shipment is there. I guess if we want something badly enough we'll do what it takes to get it. I did make sure and left about 30 butters when I was there. I really wanted to take them all but figured I'd save some for others ;) Hopefully for those who haven't been able to get any your local Smiths will be good about getting rain checks. This deal is definitely worth getting one for ;) Good luck!

Just fyi, the Smiths near me earlier today had over 50 lbs. on the shelf :) Hope you all were able to take advantage. Also, I hear Walmart is price matching their Great Value butter in place of the Land O Lakes if they are out. Between Smiths and Walmart you will be able to stock up.

I've never had a problem with items being sold out and I know for a fact that I live in a very concentrated location of Deals to Meals followers. Just this weekend I was able to restock my butter supply without a problem! Thanks Shandra for all you do, the $4.95 I pay each month for my grocery list is well worth the money I save each month. So you just keep doing what you do and don't worry, you aren't ruining it for everyone else. Your customers are well taken care of and grateful to you!

You are sweet! Thanks for the encouragement ;)

Good news...the butter sale drama continues ;) It is on sale again this week. So, stock up. Yay!!!! And who knows...I might just have to go get more ;)

I bought 2 cases of 18# and they are all for me! I saw in the back fridge there were more for others as well. I get the frustration of nothing being left as I have been in that situation as well. The secret is (usually) not waiting until the last day of the sale, and yet I still do sometimes and miss out, especially if price matching at Wal-mart. Thanks for giving us the deals in one spot. The only thing that would be more helpful is having the new ads updated early in the morning, for example it's after 12pm on Monday and still no Rancho Market for the new week.

Pam,

Thank you for your comment. I am so glad you were able to get the butter too! :)

I have to apologize for the Rancho and Harmons ad this morning. Our employee who enters those ads just had a baby and is trying to get back in the swing of early morning entering ;) Thank you for being patient. She is emailing those to me right now and I will have them uploaded in a few minutes. Thanks so much.
