Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies

I wanted to share another favorite recipe I've found in all of my recipe entering on our new blog. I had forgotten about these cookies and how much I loved them. I pretty much am a fan of everything with orange and chocolate together (remember those yummy Terry's Chocolate Oranges you get during the holidays?). These are a cookie version of those flavors and are gooey, sweet and full of citrusy goodness. You're going to love this sweet treat. Great for any weekend craving!

Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 sticks butter
8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbs. fresh orange juice
1 tsp. orange extract
Zest of two oranges
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cup flour
12 oz. bag milk chocolate chips

In a mixing bowl, and with electric beaters, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth and until the butter turns white (about 5-7 minutes). To the butter/cream cheese mixture, add the sugar and continue to beat for another 1-2 minutes. Add the eggs, orange juice, extract, zest, salt and mix again for another minute. Add the flour, while you slowly beat the batter and then add the chocolate chips at the end of the process. Mix until everything is combined.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place a sheet of parchment paper on the cookie sheet. Spoon golf ball sized portions of dough onto the pan. Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until just barely golden brown on the tops of the cookie.  Let the cookies cool and then serve.
