If you haven’t gone to get your FREE pasta, it is not too late. The .49 a pound sales are continuing one more week and the printable coupons are good until June 11th. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest Smiths grocery store and pick up your FREE pasta! I just went today and got all of the below stuff (over 90 lbs. of pasta , 11 boxes of cereal, 4 boxes of crackers, 3 cream cheeses, and a gallon of milk) all for less than $30. Awesome deal!!! (Don’t worry, I am donating my pasta to the food bank..I have pasta coming out of my ears!)

- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 can olives, sliced
- 3 stalks green onions, sliced
- 1 large cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
- 3 ounces salami, sliced
- 16 ounces pasta
- 1/3 c. olive oil
- 1/3 c. red vinegar
- 3 T. balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 t. sugar
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cook the pasta until al dente, drain and rinse with warm water. Pour pasta into a large bowl. Cut and dice all of the vegetables and add to the pasta. Prepare the dressing by whisking together all of the dressing ingredients together until blended. Pour half of the dressing on to the pasta when it is finished cooking and the vegetables are chopped. Add the rest of the dressing to the salad right before serving. Don't add all at once or the salad will become too dry once it sits for awhile. Serve salad cold or slightly warm.
I checked the coupon website, but they didn't have coupons for American Beauty pasta. That seems to be the only one on sale here in St. George. Do you know how to get coupons for that brand? Thanks!
I will buy your excess pasta for a good sale price and you can MAKE money on your purchase! Contact me!!!
How much of the Italian seasoning mix do you add to the dressing?
Sorry! Good catch. I used 1 to 1 1/2 T. of the dressing mix or powder. If you don't have the homemade Italian dressing mix, just use the packaged Italian mix from the store. Thanks!
No offense, I otherwise enjoy your blog, but I think you are taking advantage of the pasta deal, and in doing so hurting the very demographic you are trying to attract. I use coupons, but it is SOOOO frustrating everytime there is a good deal, you put in the work to get the coupons, then get to the store and they are sold out – and you KNOW it is not because families that NEED it and are going to USE it got the deal, but it's people like YOU who are cleaning off the shelves with no need or intention of even USING these items – all so you can get a good picture of "look what I got for FREE" for your blog.
Please – be a responsible and courteous coupon shopper, get 8 free boxes (or whatever) like the rest of us, and leave some for the rest of the shoppers – maybe then coupon shopping wouldn't be so discouraging and more people would try it….
I am not sure I even need to explain myself, but I feel badly for a few comments from people expressing their concern about me getting more free pasta. I want to clarify something that I didn't buy this pasta for my family, I bought this pasta to giveaway to people in need in my area.
I also didn't go and pick up my pasta until this sale had been going for over a week. I figure if people wanted some, they could have gone and got their fair share (the sale still continues another 4-5 days). Also, I asked the manager of the Smith's I shop at and they said they have more pasta than they know what to do with and are getting shipments nearly every day. When I was picking up my 'hoards' of pasta, they had over 30 cases in the aisle. If people really wanted their pasta, there was plenty (and still is) to have.
Good luck to those of you who haven't got your pasta yet. If you live near me, their is plenty to go around. Have fun shopping!
Thank you for sharing your savings with all of us. This was my first time trying this and I was blown away! 60 boxes for free!! And tomorrow is the United States Postal Service Food Drive, and won't they be thrilled! I can't wait to give it to them. I am looking forward to future posts.
And people who comment as "anonymous" are childish. Be an adult and pull up your big girl pants and own it. I guess "it" is just jealous because they don't know how to shop a great deal. My Smith's was happy to sell me all my pasta. The store manager bagged it for me. 🙂
Yummy ! That's good look and really watering in my mouth . its food my favorite and nice details share in the post. i love Italian Food
Hey Shandra, I'm new to your site and found this Free pasta thing..do you know if it's still available at Smith's (so sad I found this so late). Thanks for all the work you do!
Yummy recipe!! I made it last week but used turkey pepperoni instead of the salami to cut down on fat. I also didn't have any italian mix, just used the dressing without and it was great!! Thanks for all you do!
