I wanted to share with you a really fun idea my mom came up with for her garden. If you are like me, and you plant a bunch of plants and seeds at the same time it is easy to forget which plants you planted where. I often plant seeds and then as the plant begins to grow I have a hard time knowing whether or not it is a weed or a plant. These cute garden rocks are the perfect solution for any garden confusion you may be having. Once you plant the seeds or plants in your garden, just place your painted rocks in the square to help you remember which plants you planted. Not only that, they are cute and colorful and the perfect project for your kids this summer. My mom had a garden party with the grandkids and they all painted these cute rocks for our new square foot garden. They are something simple, but can a fun accent to your garden space and a fun summer project for the kids 😉

Oh my this is so adorable and practical at the same time!
What a great idea! I always draw out a plan of our garden to mark what I plant where and keep it in my gardening journal. (It is important to rotate the crops every year to prevent disease–for example, don't plant tomatoes in the same bed year after year. Do a rotation of tomatoes, beans, lettuce, then back to tomatoes.) Your rock idea is fun, especially for little ones so they can know what's going on in the garden.
Thanks for the tip! I will have to make sure and do some research before I plant next year and keep my plans on hand for reference. Thanks for all of the great info!
