We need your prayers!
My husbands cousin Lexi Hansen was in an accident yesterday at BYU and is in a coma with severe brain injury. She was hit by a car while she was skateboarding and has less than a 1% chance of survival. Our entire extended family, and many friends, fasted today and have been continually praying for her recovery–and are asking for your prayers as well. She is such a beautiful girl, inside and out. She is the one in the picture next to her brother in the denim jacket. She is such a sweet and loving girl we are all heart broken. We all know miracles can happen if it is God’s plan and we add our faith and prayers for her and her family. She is one of 9 amazing, talented and beautiful siblings. Our thoughts go out to their entire family at this hard time.
Tragic experiences like this sure make your perspective on life change, don’t they? I found all day today all I wanted to do was snuggle with my kids and slow down a little. Life is too fragile and short, and I feel awful that I am often guilty of putting aside things that matter most, for things that matter least. Family, relationships, your relationship with God are all things that leave a lasting legacy with those you love. It is my goal to spend more time building my relationships with others, than doing things that have little significance in life. Whether you know Lexi or not, take an extra few minutes and hug your children and family members today. Every day we have with each other is a special gift from God.
We are praying for you Lexi and we know miracles can happen!
Shandra and family. We have been reading about this all over the social media this morning. We had no idea you were related also. SOoo sorry to hear about Lexi's accident. Life certainly can change in an instant. I was hit by a car while I was out on my bike last year. I can only imagine the anguish your family is now going through also. Please know that we will be praying for Lexi and your entire family. Hugs!
We are praying for her as well. The Hansens were in our ward several years ago, and we think the world of them!
I echo your same thoughts of being grateful for the precious time we have with our families, and of not taking it for granted. Best wishes of comfort and peace to your family at this trying time.
We are praying for her as well and your family.

First time on your site. Being a mom and grandparent I ache for Lexi's entire family and friends and of course, for Lexi.
I believe my husband is still with me because of the power of prayer, friends, family and total strangers. My family is praying for your family.
Thank you everyone for your sweet comments and prayers. That means a lot. Our entire extended family, as well as the Hansen family, has been so touched by everyone's outpouring of love and concern for Lexi. We live in a good world and there are so many kind and generous people out there. THank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and prayers. Much love from all of us!

Praying for her too! My sweet daughter was in a bad car accident about 5 years ago with a severe brain injury. Her life and even her personality are not the same. There is not a day that goes by that she isn't dealing with the repercussions (inc. severe headaches, not able to handle too much, etc). If she makes it – be prepared. This isn't a broken bone. God bless your family and that what is best for Lexi happens.
Thank you again for all of your sweet comments. I am sorry for what happened to your daughter. That is so hard! Brain injuries are so scary and have so many repercussions, so we are just praying and trying to have faith in whatever the outcome will be. Thank you for sharing your insight and thoughts. God bless you and your daughter. You have been through a hard trial yourself, I am sorry about that.
I am just seeing this post now and keeping Lexi, her family and your family in my prayers!
