Two loves. Cookie butter and a homemade chocolate chip cookie. Need I say more?!?!? Happy weekend to all of us!!

- 3 2/3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbls. cornstarch
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 sticks butter (12 Tbls.)
- 3/4 cup cookie butter
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips (or more if you like lots of chocolate like I do 😉
- 1 cup chocolate chunks or semi chocolate chips
- In a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer, cream the butter, cookie butter, brown sugar and white sugar together until smooth (about 5 minutes). Add the eggs, vanilla and the dry ingredients. Mix the dough until the flour is incorporated. Add the chocolate chips to the batter and bake at 350 for 7-9 minutes, depending how large your cookies are--don't over bake a chocolate chip cookie or they will dry out 😉
What in the world is cookie butter? I have never heard of this?
Ditto Janelle's comment.
Cookie butter comes from Trader Joe's. It tastes like Delta Airlines biscotti cookies and is absolutely amazing. It is not cheap and very high calorie though and half the time I go to Trader Joe's they are out of it (high demand). Wonderful on waffles, crepes, etc.
This recipes looks good but is it good enough to use up that much cookie butter?
Thank you for your explanation about what cookie butter is. When I go to Trader Joes I tend to stock up with 5-7 jars of this good stuff. So, for me, it's worth adding the cookie butter to the recipe. I know it's expensive but I only use it every now and then and make sure it's in something I enjoy enough to counter balance the expense. Thanks so much for your comments 😉
