My family and I are huge movie buffs, and what goes with movies better than popcorn? My sister got this recipe for Orange Popcorn from a friend and I knew I would have to give it a try. My family and I gobbled it up and the sweet and salty topping was completely addicting. You would eat handful after handful, trying to get just the right bite of orange flavor bursts and buttery popcorn. The fun thing about this recipe is the topping for the popcorn doesn’t have to be cooked. You just sprinkle the orange sugar mixture over warm, buttered popcorn and it creates this crystalized, sweet and salty burst of flavor in your mouth. Next time you want to snuggle up and watch a movie, but don’t want all the calories of sticky, carmely popcorn, give this recipe a try! **You can also use this same method for a lime version –both are great. Tomorrow I will be posting about a sticky, sweet lime popcorn (above) that is also fabulous! These popcorn recipes are great to take on family car rides, on picnics, camping or anywhere you need a quick and easy snack 😉 Thanks for visiting our blog and sharing in our cooking adventures..love you guys!!

Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the zest of two oranges, 2 tsp. vanilla, 1/2-3/4 tsp. salt, and 1/2 cup sugar. Combine the mixture. Pop a large bowl of popcorn and remove any kernels. While popcorn is popping, melt 1/2 stick of butter in the microwave until melted. Pour the hot butter over the hot popcorn and then sprinkle with the orange zest and sugar mixture. Toss to coat as best you can (some sugar pieces will fall to the bottom of the bowl and that's okay--continue to toss popcorn as needed while eating to ensure you get all of the orange pieces eaten with the popcorn). Serve warm.
