Hi Friends! I’m sure you are busily getting ready for Christmas and that’s great. I am posting this recipe for my sister who calls me for the recipe ALL the time (Di, I love ya!). I still can’t believe I have never posted my homemade hot fudge recipe. This recipe is super simple to make and makes for such a decadent, rich, chocolaty dessert. Pour this over cake, ice cream, pies, brownies. You name it, this sweet, smooth fudge sauce makes everything taste better. Love you all! Merry Christmas.
*This fudge sauce can be made and kept in the fridge for up to a month. It’s smooth texture will last for weeks to come which is unlike most homemade fudge sauces that become crystal-like. It’s the best sauce recipe you’ll find! Believe me, I’ve tried just about every one 😉
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/2-2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 12 oz. milk or semi sweet chocolate chips
- Pinch salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 Tbs. butter
- In a sauce pan, add the cocoa powder, sugar, corn syrup and evaporated milk (starting with a half cup). Turn the stove to medium heat and whisk until the sugar begins to dissolve. Once the mixture begins to simmer, let it simmer on low heat for 3-4 minutes, or until the sugar is smooth and no longer granulated. Turn the heat down to low heat and add the chocolate chips, salt, vanilla and butter. Stir until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, you can add the extra evaporated milk as needed. Keep in the fridge for up to a month, or you can freeze for a later time.
