One of my favorite Hymns from church is a song titled, Each Life That Touches Ours for Good. I have been thinking about this song this past weekend and all of those beautiful people who have touched my life for good. I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by so many angels and people who have made my life better because they are part of it. I am not much on my own, but surrounded by such strong, faithful, wonderful people, I feel like I can do anything.

I returned home last night from a weekend getaway with my three amazing sisters and my parents. We get away one weekend every year and are pampered and spoiled by my sweet Mom and Dad. This has been a tradition we have done for years and it is one of my favorite weekends of the entire year.

After many hours of talking, sharing, crying, laughing (until we couldn’t breathe), shopping, late nights, yummy food, a warm breakfast every morning made by my cute Mom, my Dad spoiling us shopping, hours of vegging and spending time together, I realized again how blessed I am to have my family. Our strong relationships don’t always come easy. We have had to work through many things over the years, but we stronger for those trials. My family is ‘what is most important to me’ and we all agree we are willing to put in the work to make it wonderful. Grateful for the growth that comes through working at making relationships great.

I know many of you don’t have a family. Or, maybe you have a family but it’s not the family you hoped to have. Despite your situation, I encourage you to look around and see others in your life who help build you up, inspire you and make you want to be a better person. Here are the words to this beautiful Hymn. Read and listen to it and take a few minutes to express gratitude for  ‘Christlike Friends’ who ‘strengthen your faith and enrich your days’.

Each Life That Touches Ours for Good

  1. 1. Each life that touches ours for good
    Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord;
    Thou sendest blessings from above
Thru words and deeds of those who love.
  2. 2. What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christlike friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.
  3. 3. When such a friend from us departs,
We hold forever in our hearts
    A sweet and hallowed memory,
Bringing us nearer, Lord, to thee.
  4. 4. For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
    Devotion to the Savior’s name,
Who bless our days with peace and love,
We praise thy goodness, Lord, above.
