For thirteen years we have lived across the street from one of the most darling families you could ever imagine. From the first time I met them, we knew we were kindred spirits and they quickly became family. These past couple months as we’ve helped them move, it’s given me a chance to think about how grateful I am for the people who have been placed in my life.  I love this quote about family that helps you realize that you don’t have to be blood related to be family. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many people who have made my life better and helped me be a better person–and are truly my family.

There are people you meet in your life that you know were put there for a reason.  The Carter family is one of those for me. I have loved these Carter kids as if they were my own. I have to apologize to my girls that when they come over, I kind of monopolize on their friend time because I want to hang out with them too. They are some of the most amazing, faithful young women you will ever meet. I am so proud of them and their desire to stay close to God and put Him first in their life–no matter what is happening around them.

A friend sent this quote that I thought perfectly describes how I feel about God putting people in our life in just the way he knows will be a blessing to us.

“The same God that placed that star in a precise orbit millennia before it appeared over Bethlehem has given at least equal attention to placement of each of us in precise human orbits so that we may, if we will, illuminate the landscape of our individual lives, so that our light may not only lead others but warm them as well.”

~Elder Neal Maxwell

Wanted to send a HUGE thank you to the over 50 people who came to help with their move yesterday. After 16 hours of moving, it all was done and we were so grateful for everyone taking time out of their busy holiday weekend to help. We truly live amongst some of the most amazing people around! Love you all!!
